HMDA (Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority) approval is the gold standard for open plots in and around Hyderabad. An HMDA approved layout means the land use, road widths, open spaces and infrastructure have been sanctioned by the authority. Always ask for the LP (Layout Permission) number and verify it on the official HMDA portal. HMDA plots command higher resale value and are eligible for bank loans. Avoid unapproved layouts even if they look cheaper — the long-term risk is not worth the savings.
